In 2018, Dr. Celeste Landeros was the Keynote Speaker for Havana Habibi Festival, sharing a deep understanding of the history and impact of Middle Eastern dance in Cuba and the Caribbean. 

The Ware Foundation has just awarded Hanan Arts with a new grant to support the work of Tiffany “hanan” Madera.

As part of a new “Thankful Thursday” series, we’re shining a light on people we are very thankful for by showcasing their work and their contributions to the Havana Habibi community. It is only fitting that for our first entry, we feature the wonderful Myra Krien of Pomegranate Studio, a festival teacher from the very first Havana Habibi Festival.

Stephanie met hanan last March, when she traveled to Miami to conduct research for her latest book project that features women artists from around the globe.

Ana María Chavez is an artist, curator and professor currently living in Salvador, Brazil - and another integral part of the Havana Habibi / Hanan Arts tribe.
