When one door closes...
There’s that saying about when one door closes, another door opens. Somehow, it just doesn’t make this any better right now.
It is with a heavy heart we announce that the 2019 Havana Habibi Festival must be postponed. The Havana Habibi team has worked so hard to develop this year’s festival and we gathered a loving circle of amazing bellydancers to travel across the waters this November, but for reasons beyond our control, the Festival must be postponed until a later date.
Our hearts and minds are with our sisters in Cuba and we are already making plans to host the event in the Spring of 2020.
LOOKING AHEAD: We will host author and activist Mona Eltahawy in November, as part of the Miami Book Fair on November 17, 2019. If you’re in Miami, please join us for an invigorating and powerful conversation around Mona’s newest book, The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls. Reserve your tickets HERE.
Like you, we long to see our sisters in Cuba. Thank you to everyone for your messages of support and encouragement. We will update everyone on new developments soon!
